Bangalore, 15 September 2024: Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore, India’s top ranked Research University, has announced Mid-Year Admission for PhD Programmes for the Academic Year 2024-25 (January Session). Applications are invited from eligible applicants for admission to regular (1) Research Programmes (2) External Registration Programme at Indian Institute of Science.

Ph D in Engineering Faculty: Aerospace Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering (in the area of Transportation Engineering), Computer Science & Automation, Earth Sciences, Electrical Communication Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Systems Engineering, Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Nano Science and Engineering, Design & Manufacturing, and Computational & Data Sciences.
PhD in Interdisciplinary areas: Energy (offered by Interdisciplinary Centre for Energy Research), Cyber Physical Systems (offered by Robert Bosch Centre for Cyber Physical Systems), and Brain, Computation and Data Science.

The fees payable for each online admissions application form are as follows:
General / OBC / EWS: Rs. 800
SC / ST / PwD: Rs. 400
ERP candidates (all categories)- 2,000
Scholarships: All the students who join the Institute are eligible for a scholarship from the INSPIRE/IISc Promotional Scheme (IIScP), depending upon their entry mode. Scholarships from many Indian and multinational agencies and business houses are also available for meritorious students. The scholarship amount may vary for different scholarship agencies as per norms.
The GATE/GPAT/NET JRF/other National entrance test passing certificate/score card should be valid as on 01st January 2025.
