New Delhi: The total number of applicants registered for the National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test-UG, 2017 has jumped 41.42% to 11,35,104 candidates against 8,02,594 in NEET-2016. This is the highest number of registered candidates for NEET-UG Examination so far. Considering the substantial increase in number of registered candidates this year, the Minister of Human Resources and Development, Government of India has increased 24 more new examination cities in the list of 80 existing examination cities. Accordingly, while initially 23 cities added as new centres, now Nanded (Maharastra) has been included as the new centres.
The Central Board of Secondary Education will hold the National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test-UG, 2017 on 07 May, 2017 (Sunday). To accommodate 11,35,104 candidates in 104 cities, more than 2200 institutions will be made the centres based on the credibility, reliability and infrastructure etc in these centres. These centres will be time tested to ensure smooth conduct of examination.
The candidates can give their options to choose the city of examination by logging on to NEET website – http://cbseneet.nic.in for revising their option of cities chosen earlier. Date to revise option is extended till 31 March 2017 (Midnight).
