Hamirpur (Himachal Pradesh): National Institute of Technology (NIT) Hamirpur (HP), a institute of national importance and a part of NIT group, has invited online applications from eligible candidates for PhD programmes for the academic session 2017-18 (Odd Semester). The closing date for submission of online application is 17 July 2017.
The Institute may provide stipend/fellowship to the selected candidates who join the PhD programme on full time basis as per the guidelines of MHRD and other funding agencies. The PhD programmes are offered in 13 departments of the institute.

Eligibility Conditions:
PhD in Engineering/Architecture:
The applicant must have a Master Degree in Engineering /Technology/ Architecture in appropriate discipline with CGPI of 6.5 on a 10-point scale (or equivalent) or 60% marks in case of Open/OBC candidates in qualifying degree. Whereas in case of SC/ST candidates a CGPI of 6.0 on a 10-point scale (or equivalent) or 55% marks in qualifying degree will be applicable.
PhD in Sciences:
The applicant must have a master degree in relevant science subject with CGPI of 6.5 on a 10-point scale (or equivalent) or 60% marks in case of Open/OBC candidates in qualifying degree. Whereas in case of SC/ST candidates a CGPI of 6.0 on a 10-point scale (or equivalent) or 55% marks in qualifying degree will be applicable. Besides this, candidates having valid GATE Score/NET are only eligible for Stage-I.
PhD in Management & Humanities:
How to Apply: NIT Hamirpur informed that online application window is available till 17 July 2017 for admission to the Ph.D. (Full Time/Part Time/Off Campus) programmes. Summary sheet generated after online filling of application form along with Bank Draft for Rs 1000/-(Rupees One Thousand only) drawn in favour of the Registrar, NIT Hamirpur (HP)-177005, payable at State Bank of India, NIT Hamirpur (Branch Code No. 10367), in an envelope super-scribing “Application for PhD Programme for the academic session 2017-18” should reach in the office of Dean (Academic), National Institute of Technology, Hamirpur (HP)-177005 by 27.07.2017 upto 5.00PM.
