New Delhi, 26 August 2020: The UGC – NET (National Eligibility Test), an exam for Junior Research Fellowship and eligibility for Assistant Professor, is one of toughest competitive tests in India. More than 10 Lakh candidates apply for the test.

The next UGC NET Test will be held from 16 September 2020.  The candidates have around 20 days in their hand to give final touch to their exam preparation.

Here, SkillOutlook presents Historical Pass Rate (Qualifying Rate) and other statistics of UGC NET.  This may help aspirants strategize their test preparation.

Pass Rate of UGC-NET Dec 2019:  The total number of candidates qualified for eligibility for Assistant Professor only are 60,147, Meanwhile, candidates qualified for JRF & eligible for Assistant Professor are  5,092.

Out of 7.93 Lakh appeared candidates, more than 60,000 qualified for for eligibility for Assistant Professor only. The qualifying rate for eligibility for Assistant Professor was 7.6%, means out 100 candidates appeared the test, only 7.6 candidates qualified the test.

In case of JRF, only more than 4.7 thousand (4,756) candidates, qualified. The pass rate was only 0.64, means out 100 candidates appeared the test, only less than one candidates qualified the test.

In order to make the examination system transparent, the Question Paper and recorded responses were displayed for the verification by examiners.

Pass Rate of UGC NET June 2019: The total number of candidates registered for June 2019 UGC NET were more than 9.4 Lakh (9,42,419). The total number of candidates appeared both papers were more than 6.8 Lakh (6,81,718).

Out of 6.8 Lakh appeared candidates, more than 50,000 qualified for eligibility for Assistant Professor only. The qualifying rate for eligibility for Assistant Professor was 7.5%, means out 100 candidates appeared the test, only 7.5 candidates qualified the test.

In case of JRF, only more than 4.7 thousand (4,756) candidates, qualified. The pass rate was only 0.70, means out 100 candidates appeared the test, only less than one candidates qualified the test.

Pass Rate of UGC NET December 2018: The total number of candidates registered for June 2019 UGC NET were more than 9.5 Lakh (9,56,837). The total number of candidates appeared both papers were more than 6.8 Lakh (6,81,930).

Out of 6.8 Lakh appeared candidates, more than 44,001 qualified for for eligibility for Assistant Professor only. The qualifying rate for eligibility for Assistant Professor was 6.5%, means out 100 candidates appeared the test, only 6.5 candidates qualified the test.

In case of JRF, only more than 4.8 thousand (3,883) candidates, qualified. The pass rate was only 0.57, means out 100 candidates appeared the test, only less than one candidates qualified the test.
