New Delhi:  All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has categorically denied that AlCTE is deciding to make GATE as mandatory exit examination for Engineering Degree. The technical education regulator has clarified AICTE has not taken any such decision.

There are some newspapers have carried an item stating that AlCTE is deciding to make GATE as mandatory exit examination. The employability is poor among engineering students; hence they struggle hard in finding a suitable jobs. There have been reports that to make engineering students more employable, AICTE may introduce GATE as mandatory exit examination for BTech students.

Now students of BTech need not worry about the introduction of exit exam.

AICTE has issued this circular to clarify all stakeholders.
