IIIT Delhi announces MTech Admission 2020-21 for both GATE & Non GATE category

New Delhi:  Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology, Delhi, a state university in Delhi, has announced MTech Admission 2020-21. MTech admission is available for GATE and Non-GATE category candidates.

MTech  admission is available in the following disciplines: Computer Science and Engineering – CSE, Electronics and Communications Engineering – ECE and Computational Biology – CB).

Total Seats: MTech CSE – Total Seats for GATE -100 and Non GATE – 35

MTech ESE – Total Seats for GATE -60 and Non GATE – 14.

For MTech (CB) not mentioned on the Information Bulletin of IIIT Delhi.

MTech. (Computer Science and Engineering)

M.Tech. in CSE with Specialization in Artificial Intelligence – 20 Seats for GATE ; 07 Seats for Non GATE

M.Tech. in CSE with specialization in Data Engineering – 20 Seats for GATE ; 07 Seats for Non GATE

M.Tech. in CSE with specialization in Information Security -20 Seats for GATE ; 07 Seats for Non GATE

M.Tech. in CSE with specialization in Mobile Computing -20 Seats for GATE ; 07 Seats for Non GATE

M.Tech. in CSE (without specialization) -20 Seats for GATE ; 07 Seats for Non GATE

MTech (Electronics and Communications Engineering)

M.Tech. in ECE with specialization in VLSI & Embedded Systems -30 Seats for GATE ; 07 Seats for

Non GATE

M.Tech. in ECE with specialization in Communication and Signal Processing – 30 Seats for GATE ; 07 Seats for Non GATE

Eligibility Criteria

M.Tech. (CSE)

Both GATE and Non-GATE candidates with B.Tech./BE or MCA/MSc in CS/IT(& its allied areas) with 65% marks are eligible to apply for admission.

M.Tech. (ECE)

Both GATE and Non-GATE candidates with B.Tech/BE in ECE/EE (& its allied areas) or MSc in Electronics (for ECE) with 65% marks are eligible to apply for admission.

Relaxation

IIIT-Delhi provides relaxation to SC, ST, OBC, PwD and CW category candidates. Specifically, candidates under these categories must have 60% in their qualifying degree. Applicants who do not satisfy the above criteria will not be considered for admission.

Eligibility Criteria for MTech (CB):

  1. Tech/BE in CS/IT/Math-and-Computing

or

  1. Tech/BE in any other discipline
  2. MCA
  3. (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics , Computer Science, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Biotechnology, Biophysics, Bioinformatics, Biomedical sciences)
  4. Pharm
  5. MBBS

For Point 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 the applicants must have done the following either during their qualifying degree or from recognized institution / online education portal: at least one computer programming course, and at least two Mathematics courses.

In addition all applicants must have 65% in qualifying exam and a valid GATE score in any GATE paper which is relevant to the qualifying degree as mentioned above. The applicants must have at least 60% in all previous degrees including 10+2. Applicants who do not satisfy the above criteria will not be able to submit the application form.

Relaxation:

IIIT-Delhi provides relaxation to SC, ST, OBC, PWD and CW category candidates. Specifically, candidates under these categories must have 60%. They must have at least 55% in all previous degree including 10+2. Applicants who do not satisfy the above criteria will not be able to submit the application form.

 Assistantship for MTech:

Candidates with valid GATE score will only be eligible for M.Tech. Assistantship. GATE score above the qualifying marks announced by GATE in the respective year i.e. 2018/2019/2020 will be considered valid. For CSE, “CS” GATE paper and for ECE, “EC/EE/IN” GATE paper will be considered.

Assistantship for M.Tech. (CSE & ECE) students will be paid through AICTE-Direct benefit transfer (DBT) to the student’s account directly, at the rate of Rs.12,400/- per month as per the approval of MHRD, Govt. of India for a maximum of 24 months from the date of starting of the classes at IIIT-Delhi. Institute will provide necessary support to the students to get the assistantship.
