Guwahti: Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati, the organizing institute of Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2018, has announced the key dates (schedule), eligibility and subject syllabus of GATE 2018 exam. GATE 2018 will be held in four days in the month of February 2017. The official website of GATE2018 is http://www.gate.iitg.ac.in/ .
GATE 2018 Online Examination will be held on February 03- 04 & February 10- 11, 2018 (Saturdays & Sundays). GATE Online Application Processing System (GOAPS) Website will open for Enrolment, Application Filling, Application Submission on 01 September 2017 (Friday). The closing date for submission of online application through website is 05 October 2017 (Thursday).
The syllabus for each of the papers have been uploaded on the official website of GATE 2018. Further, detailed Eligibility Criteria for GATE 2018 have been uploaded on the website. Here, it can be mentioned that there is no age limit for GATE 2018. There are many sections have not been uploaded on the official website.
The formal announcement and notification of GATE 2018 details will be done by IIT Guwahati soon.
GATE score card can be broadly divided three parts: Higher education at IITs, IISc, NITs, CFTIs; employment opportunities at leading PSUs for Graduate Engineers; and Financial Assistance/Fellowships supported by Ministry of HRD and other government agencies. The score is used for admissions to post-graduate programmes (eg. ME, MTech, direct PhD) in Indian Higher education institutes with financial assistance provided by MHRD.
To crack a seat in MTech programmes in any IITs, candidates need to scope higher GATE score. In the GATE 2017 exam, only 16% of total candidates appeared the text were declared qualified.
IIT Roorkee was the organizing institute for GATE 2017, which saw the registration of more than nine lakh candidates.
