New Delhi: Due to prevailing circumstances following COVID 19 pandemic, Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB) has decided to relax the eligibility criterion for admissions to NITs and other CFTIs. JEE Main 2020 qualified candidates will now only need to obtain a passing certificate in class XII examination irrespective of the marks obtained.

For admissions in NITs & other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions, apart from qualifying JEE Main, the eligibility was to secure a minimum of 75% marks in XII Board exams or rank among the top 20 percentile in their qualifying examinations. This provision is now relaxed. Hence, XII pass candidates can appear JEE Main 2020.

In a twitter message, Union HRD Minister, Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank , informed that the decision by CSAB is taken considering the COVID 19 Pandemic.

This appears to a big relief to aspirants who are preparing to appear JEE Main 2020.

Earlier, Joint Admission Board (JAB) had decided to relax the eligibility criterion for #JEE (Advanced) 2020 qualified candidates this time. Qualified candidates who have passed class XII examinations will now be eligible for admissions irrespective of marks obtained.
