Exclusive by Rudra Narayan Sahoo, Mumbai: After BTech, MTech programmes in Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) are most popular course. In India there are 23 IITs (Indian Institutes of Technology). Out of these 23, six new IITs have commenced classes from academic year 2016-17: IIT Goa, IIT Bhilai (Chattishgarh), IIT Jammu (Jammu & Kashmir), IIT Dharwad (Karnataka), IIT Tirupati, and IIT Palakkad.
Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore has already notified for admission 2017-18 for various programmes including UG, Integrated PhD, MTech, MTech (Res), PhD, etc. After extension of last date for online submission of application, the application window now closes on 29 March 2017 at IISc. It is a fact that BTech is the flagship degree course, offered by IITs; however, other higher degree courses such as MTech, MTech (Research) Integrated PhD, PhD, etc. are also very popular courses among students.
