Jalandhar: Lovely Professional University, a leading private university, is conducting National Entrance and Scholarship Test (LPUNEST) in May 2020 for PhD aspirants. Both PhD Full Time and Part Time programmes available for August 2020 session.
LPUNEST (PhD) will provide a gateway to all PhD programmes in LPU and will act as Entrance test for admission in PhD Programmes at LPU.

Online Registration starts on: 1 February 2020
Last date of Registration: 19 May 2020
Dates of Entrance Test: 22 and 24 May 2020
Last Date of Admission: 7 August 2020
Online Registration has started form 1 October 2018. The closing date of registration is 20 November 2018. The dates Entrance Test 22 and 25 November 2018. The Result of LPUNEST (PhD) is 8 December 2018.
Eligibility Criteria (Qualifying Exam):
Master’s degree in the relevant discipline with 55% marks in aggregate
5% relaxation to SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer) / differently-abled candidates
Applicants having relevant Post Graduation degree in Engineering are only allowed to apply for the Ph.D. in engineering disciplines. e.g. applicants with M.Tech/ME in CSE would apply for PhD( CSE), and applicants with MCA or M.Sc. (CS/IT) degree should apply for PhD (Computer Applications).
Exemption from Entrance Test: Applicants who have qualified UGC (NET/ JRF)/ CSIR (NET/ JRF)/ ICAR (JRF/ SRF) examination/ SLET (Punjab only)/ GATE/ GPAT/ ICAR (NET), Teacher Fellowship holder or passed MPhil Programme (in Regular mode only) are exempted from LPUNEST (PhD).
Exemption is for LPUNEST (PhD) only but the applicant will have to fill the LPUNEST (Ph.D.) form and appear for the Interview. The applicants are required to bring the original documents against which exemption is sought at the time of interview.
GATE/GPAT score should be valid at the time of admission.
Selection Criteria:
An applicant will be short listed for interview on the basis of his/ her score in the entrance examination LPUNEST (Ph.D.).
The final selection for admission in Ph.D. will be based on the performance in Entrance Test (70% weightage) and Interview (30% weightage) subject to scoring minimum marks in the Interview.

However if anyone is exempted from LPUNEST (Ph.D.) entrance test, then 100% weightage will be given to Interview only.
