Jamshedpur: National Institute of Technology (NIT) Jamshedpur, an Institution of National Importance, invites applications for admission as Full-time Research Scholar to PhD Programme of the Institute for Autumn Semester 2020-2021. Full-time research scholar is eligible to receive institute fellowship.

Candidates under this category are entitled for fellowship from the Institute as per MHRD norms. The candidate must have qualified GATE/NET or any other equivalent test recognised by MHRD for award of fellowship.

Key Dates:  The closing date for online submission of application form is 22 June 2020. Date of written test and interview at NIT Jamshedpur will be announced.

The online application form and the information brochure for admission to PhD programme are available on Institute website: www.nitjsr.ac.in.Registration fee Rs. 1,000/- for OPEN/ OBC candidates and Rs. 500/- in the case of SC/ST candidates.

Humanities, Social Sciences and Management (American Literature, English Literature, Indian Writing in English) – 03

(a) Ph. D in Engineering:

Master Degree in relevant branch of Engineering/Technology with minimum 60% marks or equivalent CPI 6.5

OR

Bachelor’s degree in relevant branch of Engineering/Technology with minimum 80 % marks or equivalent CPI 8.5

(b) Ph. D in Sciences, Computer Applications, Humanities, Social Sciences and

Management

Master’s Degree in the relevant subject with a minimum 60% marks or equivalent CPI

6.5

OR

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology with minimum 80 % marks or equivalent CPI 8.5

Selection Procedure: The selection procedure for admission to Ph.D. Programme is based on consistently good academic record, written test and interview conducted by the Department. Reservations for SC/ST/OBC/ PWD/ EWS are applicable as per GOI norms.
