In India PhD admission takes place in two sessions or annually once. Many universities and research institutes have notified their admission process for the Semester II of 2017-18 or Mid Year 2017-18 or Academic Year 208-19 sessions.
Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) has extended the closing date for online application for JNU Entrance Examination for 2018-19 to 17 October 2017 (5:30 PM). PhD admission is open for Mid Year 2018-19 session in University of Hyderabad. Rajiv Gandhi National Institute of Youth Development has released PhD admission for 2017. Here, the closing date is 26 October 2017.
Out of 23 IITs in India, PhD application admission window is open in 11 IITs for the semester II 2017-18. The PhD admission is going on at IISc Bangalore for Mid-Year Admissions 2017. Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research (JNCASR), Bangalore has released PhD admission for Mid Year 2017-18 while the closing date for submission of application is 10 November 2017.
