Amethi: Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology (RGIPT), Jais, Amethi, an Institute of National Importance, is an autonomous institution established by the Government of India. RGIPT has announced Admission to MTech and PhD progarmmes for 2020-21 for its Amethi and Bangalore campuses.
The Institute at Jais, which has two Engineering; that is, Department of Petroleum Engineering and Geological Sciences, and Department of Chemical Engineering and Engineering Sciences, a Department of Sciences and Humanities and a Department of Management Studies, offers Postgraduate (M Tech and Ph D) programmes.
The Bangalore Energy Institute, Bengaluru Centre offers M Tech and Ph D programmes in various engineering disciplines.
Total Number of Seats for for Full Time Regular Programmes: MTech -134 seats for six disciplines and PhD 44 seats for five disciplines.
Financial Assistance: Financial assistance in the form of Institute Assistantships is available to the students admitted to M Tech programme under Full Time regular registration category. Presently the Assistantships @ Rs 12,400/- per month (for GATE qualified) is available. The non-GATE candidates, if admitted in the M Tech programmes at the Bengaluru PG centre will be provided with an Institute Assistantship of Rs. 8,000/- per month. A student shall be assigned duties up to eight hours per week by the Departments to avail the Teaching Assistantship.
Financial assistance in the form of Institute Assistantships is available to the students admitted to Ph D programmes under Full Time regular registration category. Such students must have qualified GATE. Presently the Assistantships @ Rs. 31,000/- per month is available to full time students admitted to the Ph D programmes.

Eligibility for M Tech Programmes for Full Time Regular:
A candidate must have secured a minimum of 60% marks/6.0 CPI on a 10 point scale in the Qualifying Degree.Applicants must have the requisite qualification for admission to postgraduate programmes. In addition, the applicant must have qualified the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) with validity not expired.
Provision for admission of non-GATE candidates into the M Tech programmes exists at Banglore Energy Institute, Bengaluru Postgraduate centre subject to qualifying a written test followed by Interview.
Selection Criteria for MTech Programme: For Full time regular category, candidates shortlisted on the basis of GATE Score which is valid and above the qualifying pass mark, may be selected for M Tech programmes either on the basis of their GATE score or written test or interview or on the basis of any combination of these as declared by the individual department.
The non-GATE candidates have to qualify the written test and the Interview for selection into M Tech programmes at Bengaluru PG centre.
