Mumbai, July 25, 2019: In line with its endeavor to promote entrepreneurship under the Government’s Skill India Program, CEDP Skill Institute Mumbai signs an MoU with National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), The MoU involves the up-skilling of youths, including the provision of training and employment opportunities to the candidates from across the country over a period of 7 years. Students from Palghar, Nashik, Raigad, Pune, Bhiwandi, Kharghar, Panvel, Khopoli, Thane, Borivali, Kurla and Vasai will be able to receive skill-based education of global standards from the CEDP Skill Institute.
Through the partnership, National Skill Development Corporation, and CEDP Skill Institute will work together to create an accredited skill development module for Tourism, healthcare, medical assistant, and Hospitality sector. Maharashtra has a strong vision; to provide 45 million people employment by 2022. According to findings, the ‘Automotive’ Cluster in Maharashtra contributes an enormous 10.4% of total employment whereas ‘Hospitality’ and ‘Tourism’ to create a promising volume of one million jobs by 2025. Evident from the facts, Maharashtra has huge potentials in the field of automobile and tourism industries.
Speaking about the scope of employment through the proposed project, Ms. Shaheen Khan Founder & CEO said, “The move to collaborate with NSDC is to create employment opportunities for the educated youth of Mumbai by providing them with skillful and practical knowledge of various sectors. In the era of Industrial 4.0, job requirements are rapidly changing hence skilling and re-skilling are need of the hour. Our economy is growing at an accelerated pace which opens up ample number of employment opportunities for the country. Taking cognizance of this situation, we at CEDP Skill Institute constantly look forward to creating avenues to propel the employability and promote entrepreneurship of the youth. Other likely sectors are healthcare, with 15.67% seats for the post of staff nurses and 30.3% seats for the post of Medical Assistance Specialist to be filed by the state. In accordance and support with the vision of Maharashtra, CEDP Skill Institute initiated programs for skilling and reskilling youth across the state in the field of Automotive, Hospitality & Tourism and Healthcare.
Elaborating more on the job market, Ms. Khan shared “Currently we have around 3800 job offers from healthcare, automotive and hospitality & tourism. These industries have a huge requirement of skilled workforce. We are confident of meeting our target of training more than youth in the period of seven years.”
