New Delhi, April 12, 2019: Design as a profession will be one of the top professions in demand leading to an increased demand for designers across categories including white goods, FMCG, Auto, Electronics, Gaming, Media & Entertainment to name a few. World University of Design (WUD), India’s first and only university dedicated to education in the creative domain, has announcedadmissions for 2019-20 session for its undergraduate, post graduate, diploma and PhD courses.

 Admission will be conducted through a Design Aptitude Test (DAT), AAT (Art Aptitude Test) and GAT (Graduate Aptitude Test)followed by a personal interview, details of which are also available online at www.worlduniversityofdesign.ac.in/. Duly filed forms can be submitted online as well as offline for the Entrance Exams scheduled for 21st April 2019.

The University is established by the Haryana Private Universities Act, 2006 with the right to confer degrees under Section 2(f) and 22(I) of the UGC Act.WUD is one if the few recognized Universities in India to offer cutting edge, trans-disciplinary programs in the creative domains of Fashion Design, Communication, Product, Art, Architecture, Curation, Art education, Management and Humanities and unique courses like B.Des &M.Des in Transportation Design, Fashion Design and BBA & MBA in Design & Strategy Management.

Elaborating on the study programs offered at WUD, Dr. Sanjay Gupta, Vice Chancellor, said, “Careers in the creative sector are increasing manifold with accelerated demand virtually from across every industry segment today. At WUD we impart immersive, trans-disciplinary approach to education in order to give a sound design foundation and prepare students to become critical thinkers and problem solvers of tomorrow.As the Global Industrial Design market is expected to reach 59,000 million USD by the end of 2024, we foresee a huge demand for skilled designers. The second area with a lot of potential is India’s automotive and manufacturing industry.”

 He further added, “WUD has been awarded the prestigious ERASMUS+ grant for capacity building in Design and Innovation which further outlines our commitment towards nurturing the design capabilities of our students.”

WUD offers up to 100%* merit scholarships to eligible candidates. The scholarships under different categories included Merit based scholarships, special scholarships for students with creative talent for wards of Defense Personnel, girl child and students with merits in Sports, Performing Arts and scholarships for students having a Haryana domicile. Valid scores of NIFT, NID, CEED and UCEED exams can be considered in lieu of DAT and those of CET, CAT, MAT and XAT in lieu of GAT. The University also accepts SAT SCORES for admissions.
