IIM Shillong, 11 December 2020: Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Shillong, India’s Leading Business School, has announced PhD Programmes for 2021. PhD Programme is offered in eight management related subjects. The institute provides Monthly Fellowships and various research grants to PhD Scholars.

Key Dates & Application Fees:  The link for application form opens from 15 December 2020 and closes on 30th January 2021. The closing date for submission of online application is 30 January 2021.

The Application fee of Rs 1500/- (Regular) and Rs 1000 for (SC/ST) is to be paid online.

Eligibility Conditions:

Candidates should have: • A Master’s Degree (bachelor’s degree obtained in 10+2+3 pattern, followed by a master’s degree) or a 5-year Integrated Master’s Degree (obtained after completing higher secondary schooling in 10+2 pattern) in any discipline, with at least 55% marks in the bachelor’s and 60% in the master’s degrees or A Master’s Degree (A 4 year / 8 semesters Bachelor’s degree (10+2+4 pattern) with at least 6.5 CGPA or equivalent marks, followed by a master’s degree;

(OR)

A professional qualification like CA, ICWA, CS with at least 55% marks in B.com degree. In case of grades / CGPA, the conversion to percentage of marks would be based on the procedure certified by the respective University/ Institution. If a University/institution confirms that there is no scheme for converting CGPA into equivalent marks, the equivalence would be established by dividing the candidate’s CGPA by the maximum possible CGPA, and multiplying the result by 100

Test Scores:

Candidates require a valid test score either of GMAT, GRE, CAT, GATE, JRF (NET) score to be considered for admission. Candidates should upload the valid score card along with application form.

Selection Process:

Candidates who fulfill the eligibility criteria stated above and who cleared the Common Admission Test (CAT) held by the IIMs in either 2019 or 2020.

Alternatively, those who have valid GATE, GRE, GMAT and JRF (UGC/CSIR) examinations till 5th February 2021 can also apply in the relevant area of specialization.

Candidates who have already obtained a two-year PGDM from any of the IIMs with a CPGA equivalent to 60% are exempted from this requirement and can apply directly through the prescribed Application Form. Such applicants are also eligible to get a waiver of the first year course work and can directly join the second year of the program

Short-listed candidates (on the basis of their academic record and performance in the competitive examinations mentioned above) will be called for a personal interview for final selection. The successful candidates will receive offers to join the course by May 2021

Admission to the program is open to overseas candidates including NRIs and foreign nationals. Their admission will be based on GMAT/GRE scores which are valid till 30th January 2021.

Age Limit

  • Applicants must not be more than 30 years of age as on June 1, 2021 to apply
  • SC, ST, OBC, PWD, Transgender and Women candidates are given an age relaxation of up to 5 years

Fellowship and Research Grants: IIM Shillong  offers monthly fellowship and contingency allowance up to four years. Students are provided with a fellowship amount of Rs.30, 000/- per month during 1st & 2nd year, and Rs. 35,000/- per month for 3rd & 4th Year, subject to the clearance of Comprehensive Examination and submission of thesis proposal.

One Time Computer Grant of Rs 50,000/- per scholar which can be used anytime by the scholar before the completion of the Third year but after successful completion of the first year.

The scholar is also entitled for a total Financial Aid of upto Rs.1,00,000/- for a period of three years starting from the beginning of the Second Year onwards. The Financial Aid will include the following: –
