Bangalore: Karnataka Examinations Authority invites applications from eligible Karnataka and non-Karnataka candidates for admission to 1 year/1st semester full time /part time MBA, MCA, ME or MTech M Arch courses in the institutions affiliated university in Karnataka.

The candidates will have to appear the Post Graduate Common Entrance Test  (PGCET) 2020 for admissions to MBA, MCA and M.E. / M.Tech / M.Arch courses as per the schedule notified by the Karnataka Examinations Authority.  The Post Graduate Common Entrance Test – 2020 will be conducted in specified places, spread over Karnataka.

The candidates with valid GATE score compulsorily enter application online to become eligible for admission to ME/MTech/MArch courses. , but they need not to appear for PGCET-  2020.

Key Dates:  The online application will commence from 15 June 2020. The closing date for online application 28 June 2020. The last date to Pay the fees in the bank  is 30 June 2020.

 Test Schedule:

08-August —2020 SATURDAY – ME / MTech / MArch

09-August – 2020 SUNDAY – MCA & MBA

Eligibility Conditions

  1. A) For MBA:

(i) For Full Time MBA courses:

A candidate who has passed Recognised Bachelor’s Degree of minimum of 3 years duration examination or equivalent examination and obtained an aggregate minimum of 50% marks taken together in all the subjects including languages in all the years of the Degree Examination is eligible for admission to MBA courses. (45% of marks in Q. E. in case of SC, ST and Category-I of Karnataka candidates) (Reservation is applicable only for Karnataka Candidates)

(ii) For Part Time MBA courses:

A candidate who has passed recognized Bachelor’s Degree of minimum of 3 years duration examination or equivalent examination and obtained an aggregate minimum of 50% marks taken together in all the subjects including languages in all the years of the Degree Examination is eligible for admission to Part Time MBA courses (45% of marks in Q. E. in case of SC, ST and Category-I of Karnataka candidates). (Reservation is applicable only for Karnataka Candidates) In addition to this a candidate after obtaining the degree, must have worked for not less than three years as on 31st July 2020, in an establishment and must be working in an organization situated within a radial distance of 40 km from the institution in which the candidate seeks admission.

For M.E. / M.Tech / M.Arch – Course

(i) For Full Time M.E. / M.Tech / M.Arch – Course

A candidate with valid GATE score.

A candidate who has passed qualifying examination or equivalent examination as prescribed by the Competent Authority and obtained an aggregate minimum of 50% marks taken together in all the subjects of all the years / semesters of the Degree Examination is eligible for admission to M.E. /

M.Tech / M.Arch courses (45% of marks in Q. E. in case of SC, ST and Category-I candidates. (Reservation is applicable only for Karnataka Candidates)

(ii) For Part Time M.E. / M.Tech / M.Arch courses: A candidate who has passed prescribed qualifying examination or equivalent examination as prescribed by the Competent Authority and obtained an aggregate minimum of 50% marks taken together in all the subjects of all the years / semesters of the Degree Examination is eligible for admission to M.E. / M.Tech / M.Arch courses (45% of marks in Q. E. in case of SC, ST and Category-I Karnataka candidates) (Reservation is applicable only for Karnataka Candidates)

In addition to this candidate after obtaining the complete degree, must have worked for not less than three years as on 31st July 2020, in an establishment and must be working in an organization situated within a radial distance of 40 km from the institution in which the candidate seeks admission. However, the employer has to fill up the NOC duly signed by the competent authority.

GATE qualified candidates from only Engineering and Technology discipline are eligible to take admission to Various M.Tech Programmes under VTU, Belgaum. Candidates with valid GATE score are given first preference for admission to all M.E. / M.Tech / M.Arch courses. Such candidates need not appear for PGCET-2020. However, they have to apply through online for admission. When GATE qualified candidates are not available, seat allotment will be made to non-GATE candidates based on the merit list of PGCET-2020. Candidates have to make sure that they have valid qualifying marks in GATE in their respective subjects under the category to which they belong (GM/OBC/SC/ST/PD).

VTU, UBDT and UVCE are offering more than 100 M.E. / M.Tech programs in different disciplines with 04 M.Arch programs and one MBA (Infrastructure Management). Candidates with B.E. / B. Tech / B.Arch. Degree or its equivalent from a recognized University are eligible to apply to these courses. A non-GATE candidate seeking admission to any of these courses should appear for PGCET-2020 Test as per the schedule under appropriate Board corresponding to their basic (qualifying / qualified) degree, irrespective of M.E. / M.Tech / M.Arch courses for which the candidate is eligible.

GATE Scholarship for MTech

For receiving GATE Scholarship, a candidate must have a valid GATE Score.

Candidates with valid GATE score, opting seats under Sponsored Quota, are not entitled for GATE stipend.

 SC/ST/OBC candidates with valid GATE Score claiming any other scholarship from Government of Karnataka / India are not entitled for GATE Scholarship.
