New Delhi, 12 June 2020: India Ranking 2020 Report has been released by Ministry of HRD under National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2020.
In the Engineering category, IIT Madras remains at the Top for the fifth consecutive year. IIT Madras has also bagged the Top Rank in ‘Overall’ Category for the second consecutive year.
IIT Delhi emerges second position among engineering institutes in India. IIT Bombay secures third spot in the ranking table. These top three have retained their top honors.
National Institute of Technology (NIT) Tiruchirappalli is the only NIT which breaks into Top 10 club, stands at 9th place.
Anna University, Chennai secures 14th place among tech institutes in India, which emerges as the Top State University in this category.
Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) is the only private university among India’s Top 20 engineering colleges. VIT bagged 15thy spot in the engineering category. Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Coimbatore is another private university among Top 25 with ranking of 20.
There are 14 IITs in the Top 25 while 5 are NITs. The five NITs among Top 25 are as followed: NIT Trichy -09, NIT Karnataka – 13, NIT Rourkela-16, NIT Warangal -19, NIT Calicut -23.
The state universities who are in the top 25 are as followed: Anna University -14, Jadavpur University -17, and Institute of Chemical Technology -18.
In the Top 10, there are nine IITs: IIT Madras -1, Delhi-2, Bombay-3, Kanpur-4, Kharagpur -5, Roorkee-6, Guwahati=7, Hyderabad-8, and Indore -10.
