A Special Campaign 2.0 has been launched by the Union Government on 2nd October, 2022 which will go on till 31st October, 2022 under which all ministries/departments are focusing on Swachhata, promoting cleanliness, good governance & ease of living while reducing compliance burden and pendency in Government. The Special Campaign 2.0 draws inspiration from Prime Minister, Shr iNarendra Modi’s vision and mission to institutionalize Swachhata and minimize pendency in Government.

Under the “Special Campaign 2.0”, activities relating to cleanliness, review & simplification of rules & procedures, review of record management system, productive use of space and disposal of waste materials enhancing work place experience are being undertaken in this Department and its autonomous organisaitons. Till 31stOctober, 2022 (5.30 P.M), the status of progress of public grievances, Ease of Rules, number of campaign conducted, review of files, weeding out of old files, revenue generation and spaces freed is as follows-

The campaign has received tremendous enthusiasm from all attached offices of the Department of School Education & Literacy. The progress of the Special Campaign 2.0 has garnered huge response on social media with numerous social media activities being undertaken by the Department and its autonomous organisations. Some of the important initiatives taken by the Department during Special Campaign are-

  1. Swachhata Campaigns were taken up in all KVs, JNVs and Schools affiliated to CBSE. Special emphasis was placed on cleaning of school libraries, washrooms etc.
  2. Under Mission Life, School students were encouraged to adopt and promote environment friendly lifestyles.
  3. Under “Clean Desk, Clean Section and Clean corridor aspects of the Special Campaign 2.0”, all officers/officials of the Department including its Autonomous Bodies have endeavoured to create a clean and clutter work atmosphere that would increase their productive energies.
  4. Special emphasis was placed on resolving Public Grievances relating to the Department.
  5. Following Best and innovative practiceswere identified during the campaign and widely disseminated through social media-
  1. Waste water treatment in collaboration with an organization named TIDE in JNV Bangalore
  2. Commencement of Online Inspection by NCTE
  3. NIOS made the compost of the garden leaves, grass, twigs, flowers and waste of the vegetables used in the kitchen
