VARANASI : Leading global business executive and Chairman and CEO of Palo Alto Networks, Mr. Nikesh Arora will be the chief guest of the 102nd convocation of Banaras Hindu University. The university is holding its convocation on 10 December, 2022. Mr. Arora is also an alumnus of Banaras Hindu University. He obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering (1985 – 1989) from Institute of Technology, BHU, which is now IIT-BHU. Arora has also been the President and COO of SoftBank and has worked as a senior executive with Google too. He has been with Palo Alto Networks since June 2018. Headquartered in Santa Clara, California, United States, the company is a global cyber security leader.
Banaras Hindu University is organizing its convocation after a gap of almost three years due to the Covid19 pandemic. The 101st convocation of the university was held in December 2019. During the convocation this year, BHU Gold Medal for the sessions 2019-20, 2020-21 and 2021-22 will be awarded at the main ceremony at Swatantrata Bhawan. Degrees for these sessions will be distributed by respective Faculties and Institutes after the main convocation ceremony. The office of the Registrar (Academic) has issued the official notification in this regard.
