Bengaluru : : The International Skill Development Corporation (ISDC), UK, hosted the Karnataka Education Innovation Conference (KEIC) 2022 in collaboration with the Karnataka State Higher Education Council. The conference was inaugurated by Dr. Ashwath Narayan C. N, Honourable Minister for Higher Education, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship today at Hotel Shangri-La, Bengaluru. ISDC is the UK-headquartered skill development and education company, working with an excess of 200 Universities in India including all the leading Education Brands in Bangalore and aims to bridge the skill gap globally with a team of highly skilled professionals and has supported thousands of students achieving their dreams.

While inaugurating the conference, Dr. Ashwath Narayan C.N, said, “I feel privileged to be here at the Karnataka Education innovation conference and welcome all the dignitaries and experts and my heartiest congratulations to the ISDC team for creating this platform. 21st century is a century of knowledge- Knowledge based economy, Knowledge based system. Keeping this in mind, we need to work together towards knowledge creation, dissemination and encourage innovative and disruptive ideas in pursuit of excellence in education. We are keeping our spirits high in implementing the NEP to facilitate the highest standards of education and stay relevant in the bigger world of opportunities”.

He further added, “The National Education Policy 2020 places a great deal of focus on internationalisation of higher education in order to integrate the global and intercultural dimensions of higher education. In addition, the latest guidelines from the UGC on dual degree programs, have opened up plenty of opportunities in this direction. I hope that the engaging discussions during the conference will help in paving the way for the creation of universities of the future through partnerships and collaborations”.

Internationalization of education has been a priority for the Karnataka government for a long Internationalization of education has long been a priority for the Karnataka government. During his recent visit to the UK, Dr. Ashwath Narayan met with regulators, professional bodies, and prominent universities to discuss future collaborations that will improve education and skills in Karnataka.

Mr. Tom Joseph, Executive Director for Strategy & Development at ISDC, said, “The Government of India is taking a number of initiatives to promote internationalisation of higher education under the National Education Policy 2020. UGC has initiated the latest set of regulations around international collaboration between Indian and foreign higher education institutions in order to develop a conducive environment for Indian students. We are hopeful that through this conference, we will be able to reach out to the maximum number of students, highlighting the positive aspects of the internationalisation of education and helping them achieve greater success in their respective careers”.

Major topics of discussion at the conference were education beyond borders: the way forward in the context of internationalisation; Building digital infrastructure for global learners; Building the global talent pool; and a VC round table on Creating Universities of the future through partnership working.

The conference featured eminent speakers and delegates from the government, academia, industry, and foreign universities.
