EuroSchool Students shine at State Taekwondo Championship

Bengaluru: 8 Students of EuroSchool North Campus, have bagged various medals with their tremendous performance at the Karnataka State Level Taekwondo (ITF) Championship-2021. The event was organized by the Taekwondo Association of Karnataka which was held on 14th and 21st November 2021.

11-year-old, grade 7 student, Deekshith Raj started his campaign by winning a gold medal in the pattern category on 14th November. In addition, on 21 November, he participated in 3 different categories of this championship, where he won the gold medal in the girls’ self-defense category, soon after, he won the bronze medal in another boy’s self-defense category. In his last campaign, he secured a bronze medal in the Taekwondo sparring categories. On the other side, his predecessor, Yashas P Raju of Grade 10 bagged Gold medals in both the categories of group and pattern at the same championship. Apart from this, Haveesh Alanki, a 7-year-old student of class 3 of the same school, won a bronze medal in the pattern and individual categories at one of the events of the same competition.

In other students:

  • Aditya P Raju of grade 8 bagged gold medals in both Patten and Sparring categories.
  • Harsh Joshi of grade 3 won a silver medal in xxx category.
  • Akshaj Subramanian of Grade 4 won a bronze medal in Sparring Category.
  • Zara Anjum of grade 7 won a gold medal in xxx category.
  • Tamanna S of grade 9 won gold in Group Pattern, silver in Individual Sparring, and bronze in Individual Pattern categories.

All these students aspire to participate in the Olympics as one of their long-term goals. With this desire, they are confident that along with achieving their goals they will also win medals for the country. One of the winners, Yashas P Raju says, “Now my focus is on the upcoming National Taekwondo Championship for which I am practicing diligently. I am overwhelmed and grateful that I am getting a lot of support from my school to accomplish the mission of representing the country at the event and winning medals for the country”.

Elated over the achievements of the students, Vandana Gupta, Principal, Euroschool North Campus said, “We are extremely fortunate to have such promising students in our school who have put in a lot of time and effort in their training, the result of which is in front of us. Their future goal of representing the country is an indicator that they will surely emerge as world-renowned sportspersons in the future and will hold the nation’s head high. I wish all three of them all the best for their upcoming competitions. I hope these promising students will keep making us proud by bringing more such glory to the school”.
