CHENNAI : Renault Nissan Technology and Business Centre India Private Limited (RNTBCI) has launched a scholarship program at Indian Institute of Technology Madras on 15th December 2021. The program will benefit students studying BSc in Programming and Data Science from IIT Madras.
The inaugural ceremony for this scholarship was attended by Mr. Debashis Neogi, Managing Director, RNTBCI, Mr. Ramakrishnan Ramanathan, Vice President, Renault Quality and Head CSR, Prof. Prathap Haridoss, Dean (Academic Courses), IIT Madras and Prof. Andrew Thangaraj, Coordinator, IIT Madras BSc Program.
RNTBCI, through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), will be providing financial assistance to 100 learners who are from economically disadvantaged backgrounds to pursue the BSc in Programming and Data Science from IIT Madras.
Drawing attention to the importance of education, Mr. Debashis Neogi, Managing Director, RNTBCI, said, “The right education at the right time is crucial for any student. We are delighted to partner with IIT Madras to empower 100 students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds to pursue their dreams to build a career in Programming and Data Science. The IIT Madras BSc in Programming and Data Science, introduced in 2020 as the first-ever online degree by an IIT, spearheads the democratization of high-quality education in India. The program has been designed to cater to candidates from all educational backgrounds and located anywhere in the world. The program is very attractive for learners who are interested in building a career in the highly sought-after disciplines of data science and programming.
The program is offered 3 times a year and attracts learners from around the world. For admissions to the January 2022 term, the applications portal is open until 21st December 2021.
