New Delhi: The University Grants Commission (UGC), the higher education regulator, has constituted a Committee to recommend and suggest reforms in Examination system in universities and colleges. Examination reform is one of the major tasks initiated in this direction.

The UGC has decided to solicit the views/suggestions from all HEIs including teachers, students, controller of examination, education personnel, eminent educationists and public at large on specified themes for examination reform for taking a considered view.

All concerned persons can send send their views/suggestions (in not more than 150 words) for each theme in the prescribed format latest by 22 June 2018 to [email protected].

Examination reform is based on following themes:

Theme: 1

Objectives of examination system

Models of examination system which can be followed in India

Structural and procedural changes needed in the examination system

Theme: 2

Grade and credit-transfer in the examination system

Moderation procedure

On-demand examination

Internal examination and external examination

Theme: 3

Technological interventions/ technology based automation required

Question bank

Need for minimum standardized infrastructure

Ability test for all undergraduates at the end of degree programme

Theme: 4

Evaluation Process

Result declaration

Award of mark sheet & degrees
