VARANASI : In the interest of students & in view of the challenges faced by them in learning during the pandemic, the Banaras Hindu University has decided that Faculties may pick any one of the following three options for the ensuing Semester End Examinations:

  1. Online Mode (Open Book Examination)
  2. Conventional Offline Mode
  3. Option to students to pick any one of the above two options

The decision was taken at a high level meeting chaired by Vice-Chancellor Prof. Sudhir K. Jain. The meeting was attended by Directors of Institutes, Deans of Faculties and senior officers of the university. As the situation varies from faculty to faculty, applying a uniform solution across faculties won’t be right. The meeting also took note of the requirement of regulatory bodies to conduct classes & hold examinations in offline mode in some of the courses/programmes. It has been decided that Faculties may quickly select one of the three models of evaluation after consultation with their Heads of Departments, teachers and students.
