I am writing to you on behalf of Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology, (IIIT) Delhi, one of India’s leading innovation and research-based institutes. The ECE department at IIIT-Delhi has recently launched two new specializations in M.Tech. They are CPS (Cyber-Physical Systems) and ML (Machine learning). The announcement was made during the inaugural event of these specializations with an open house.
This decision has been made taking into account the evolving industry scenario that is witnessing the emergence of paradigm-shifting technologies like Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), and Internet of Things (IoT) among others. Take the Machine Learning market, for instance. According to a report published by Forbes magazine, the global Machine Learning market is projected to grow from $7.3 billion in 2020 to $30.6 billion in 2024, at a robust CAGR of 43%. Since our understanding and use- cases of these technologies are expanding rapidly and each of the above fields is getting increasingly complex, there is an urgent need to provide specializations within ECE in the M.Tech. program to produce market-ready individuals.
A panel discussion followed by Q&A session was also planned for aspirants on 24th April, 2021 at 11:00 am, so that they could learn more about the specializations.
Around 100 participants attended this session which was headed by Dr. Sanjit and Dr. Ranjitha, who gave the introduction to CPS and ML specialization respectively. The placement cell of IIIT Delhi also talked about the career prospects with regard to these courses.
The students who join these programs will be on the leading edge of technological research that has the potential to transform the world for the better. Moreover, they will also get the opportunity to enter into collaborations/internships with reputed industry partners and academic laboratories in India and abroad.
In case this information piques your curiosity, we can get you in touch with the faculty at IIIT Delhi and facilitate a thorough interaction.
