Jammu: Viksit Bharat@2047 marked a historic moment with its ‘Voice of Youth’ Consultation Programme, an event aimed at channeling the ideas and aspirations of the youth towards the vision of a developed India by 2047. The Hon’ble Prime Minister, on a momentous occasion, launched the Viksit Bharat@2047 Ideas Portal and delivered an inspiring Special Address via Video Conferencing and webcast. The event commenced with the welcoming of Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi for the launch of Viksit Bharat@2047 Ideas Portal by Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, Hon’ble Minister of Education, Govt. of India.
Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, Hon’ble Minister of Education, Govt. of India mentioned, “With the launch of “Viksit Bharat@2047: Voice of Youth” initiative, Hon. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji has given us a new vision and direction. I am confident our universities, colleges and educational institutions will add new momentum to this initiative. Guided by the mantra of Sabka Prayas, let us work to create an environment that inspires our Amrit Peedhi and citizens towards accomplishment of the goal of developed India. “

Hon’ble Lt. Governor, Jammu and Kashmir, Shri Manoj Sinha emphasized the importance of empowering the youth and applauded the initiative for providing a platform for their voices. He stated, “Viksit Bharat@2047 exemplifies the commitment to harnessing the potential of our youth, ensuring their active participation in shaping the future of our nation.”
From the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, a total of 19 institutes, encompassing prestigious entities such as IIT, IIM, IIMC, AIIMS, NIFT, NIT, along with 161 colleges from the region, actively participated. During the event held at Rajbhawan, 310 participants representing various institutes were present, while 35,000 participants joined virtually from different locations across the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir through online conferencing.
The Rajbhawan witnessed the convergence of distinguished personalities, including Prof. B.S. Sahay, Director, IIM Jammu, and Prof. Jabir Ali, Dean Academics, IIM Jammu, who graced the event in the esteemed presence of LG. Manoj Sinha, Hon’ble Lt. Governor of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. The Institute’s faculty, officers, staff, and students participated enthusiastically in large numbers, joining the event at the Permanent Campus of IIM Jammu through the webcast, showcasing the widespread engagement of the IIM Jammu community on this occasion.
Prof. B.S. Sahay, Director, IIM Jammu, emphasized on the pivotal role of youth in shaping the nation’s destiny. He remarked, ‘The youth are the architects of our future, and initiatives like Viksit Bharat@2047 pave the way for their ideas to be heard and integrated into the fabric of our nation’s progress.
