Indian Institute of Management Ranchi conducted the flagging off ceremony of a group of bright and ambitious Jharkhand participants embarking on a transformative journey to Punjab through the “Yuva Sangam” Phase-IV program. This event was graced by Prof. Deepak Kumar Srivastava, Director, IIM Ranchi, the nodal officer Prof. Jagan Kumar Sur, and other faculty members of IIM Ranchi.

IIM Ranchi is the nodal institute for the state of Jharkhand and is paired with the Central University of Punjab. This initiative aims to give these young minds unique opportunities to explore new horizons, exchange ideas, and broaden their perspectives.

IIM Ranchi faculty panel selected 50 out of 1800+ registered participants. “Yuva Sangam” Phase-IV is more than just a trip; it is a platform for personal growth, self-discovery, and building lifelong connections. Through this program, we hope to empower these students to become future leaders and change-makers in their communities. Prof. Prashant Maurya and a few IIM Ranchi students will accompany the selected participants on the trip.

Yuva Sangam is an ongoing cultural exchange with the celebration of diversity at its core wherein participants gain an immersive experience of diverse facets of life, natural landforms, development landmarks, recent achievements, and youth connect in the host state through exposure tours of 5-7 days. During these tours, participants get multi-dimensional exposure under five broad areas -5 Ps, i.e., Paryatan (Tourism), Parampara (Traditions), Pragati (Development), Prodyogik (Technology), and Paraspar Sampark (People-to-people connect). The programme aligns with the vision of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 by focusing on experiential learning and imbibing first-hand knowledge of the rich diversity of India.

The ceremony, filled with excitement and anticipation, marks the beginning of a life-changing experience for these students. As they embark on this journey, they will discover Punjab’s rich cultural heritage and engage in meaningful interactions with their peers from different backgrounds, said Prof. Deepak Kumar Srivastava.

Prof. Jagan Kumar said, “It is a great opportunity for the youths of Jharkhand to explore diverse culture, key monuments, and modernization in various areas of Punjab”.

IIM Ranchi will host a similar visit for participants from Punjab where they will get a chance to explore the natural beauty and rich culture of Jharkhand.
