IIM Ranchi’s Induction 2026 continued with Day 3 sessions for the new cohorts of MBA, MBA-HRM, MBA-BA, and PhD programmes, featuring engaging interactions with distinguished speakers from academia, technology, and industry. The sessions provided students with valuable insights into the future of Artificial Intelligence and Business Analytics, along with emerging trends in industrial packaging, manufacturing, logistics, infrastructure, and end-to-end travel services.

The very first speaker, Prof. Sudipta Dasmohapatra, Senior Associate Dean, Georgetown University, USA, addressed the incoming students on the evolving landscape of management education and leadership in an AI-driven world. Emphasising adaptability, continuous learning, and ethical decision-making, she highlighted the need for future managers to combine strong functional knowledge with human-centric skills such as communication, collaboration, negotiation, and storytelling. She also underscored the growing importance of AI literacy, data-driven decision-making, and responsible leadership in navigating contemporary business challenges.

Continuing in the session, Shri Adhip Nath Palchaudhuri, Chairman & Managing Director, Balmer Lawrie & Co. Ltd., engaged students in an interactive session, drawing on his extensive professional experience across consulting, technology, manufacturing, and public sector leadership. Reflecting on his career journey and the evolution of organisations over time, he emphasised the importance of adaptability, resilience, continuous learning, and the willingness to step beyond one’s comfort zone. He encouraged students to build strong professional foundations, cultivate meaningful relationships, embrace diverse opportunities, and approach challenges and setbacks as catalysts for personal and professional growth.

During the session, Prof. Neelu, Chairperson – International Relations, addressed the students and provided an overview of the Internationalization at IIM Ranchi, and the Student Exchange Programme (STEP), including the process, guidelines, academic requirements, and the partner international business schools associated. She also shared testimonials and experiences of past students, motivating the new batch to explore global learning opportunities.

She further introduced students to various international initiatives and activities planned by the International Relations Office (IRO) during the academic year. The session encouraged students to actively participate in global exposure opportunities and understand the importance of international collaboration in management education.

The session concluded with an interactive discussion, where students raised their queries and received valuable guidance and suggestions from the speakers.
