Chennai, 1 October 2018: Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras is calling for applications for an Executive MBA (EMBA) program that will help Middle and Senior Level Professionals enhance their careers. The applications were open from 30 September 2018.

The Executive Master of Business Administration from Department of Management Studies (DOMS), IIT Madras, was launched in 2018 and is a 2-year degree program. This will be the Second batch of EMBA and can be pursued along with a regular career, since classes will be held during mostly alternate weekends.

Industries are going through a massive evolution process with technology outbreaks both constructive and destructive, which makes it crucial for organisations to employ/retain the right resources. Another key concern would be to try and balance the young tech savvy Next Gen and Millennial resources with the experienced existing employees. The Executive MBA program aims to meet these requirements.

Speaking about the salient highlights of this EMBA program, Faculty Coordinators Professors R P Sundarraj and R K Amit said, “With over 50 years of experience and expertise in imparting management education, exploring leading edge research and conducting specialized training, IIT Madras is uniquely positioned and carved a niche for itself in the business and academic worlds. DoMS, IIT Madras is one of the leading centres of management research and teaching in India. The EMBA program draws it strength from the DoMS faculty who have been involved in high impact research and teaching in the frontier areas of management.”

Student from the first batch are already having a great experience.

One of the students, Dr Ajitesh Radhakrishnan IRS, Deputy Commissioner (Admin), Goods and Services Tax (GST), Chennai-Outer Commissionerate, said, “The EMBA course offered by IIT-Madras is unique in the sense that it is both comprehensive and hands-on. Program Structure

It is a two year / 24 months program divided into 8 quarter / 4 semesters. Each semester will have two quarters. There are 30 courses which consist of 16 core courses and 14 electives. There will be 3 capstone projects which will start from the second semester (3rd Quarter) and continue through the 3rd and 4th Semester

The basic criteria to apply at IIT Madras is 60 per cent and above in UG and a minimum of 3 years of work experience. The online portal will open by first week of October 2018 to fill in the application form for EMBA entrance examination. The portal will close in 30 days.

The selected candidates will receive a call letter to attend the EMBA entrance exam and personal interview. This will happen by during mid-November 2018. The results will be declared in December 2018, and students will be requested to pay the initial fee to enrol for the program. The batch orientation will happen in December last week. The classes will commence from the first week of January 2019.
