Roorkee, 20 March 2023: Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee, an Institute of National Importance, has opened application portal for SPARK program, an institute-funded Summer Internships programmes for university students.
Some of the salient features of SPARK program includes:
Stipend of Rs. 2,500/week
Online, hassle-free application process
Students work on focussed projects advertised at the time of application
Regular progress reviews and poster sessions with awards for best posters
Starting from 2018, IIT Roorkee offers institute-funded (with a stipend of Rs. 2,500/week) and project-funded summer internships under the SPARK program. The objective of this programme is to attract and nurture talented undergraduate students across the country. Last year with 15000+ applications, 120+ offers were made.

Result Announcement : Second Week of April 2023
Start of the Program : Second Week of May 2023
Eligibility Conditions: Students who are currently enrolled and have completed at least two semesters of the undergraduate degree (B.Arch./B.E./B.Tech./M.Sc) in a relevant discipline from any institute in India.
BTech/BE/integrated MSc students/MSc students who would have done two semesters before summer 2023 and have atleast a semester remaining after summer 2023 are ONLY eligible.
Following minimum CGPA criterion will apply:
CGPA > 7.5 for IITs/IISc.
CGPA > 8.0 for NITs/ IISERs/ NISER/IIEST/UM-DAECBS.
CGPA > 8.5 for students of other institutes.
The program has been highly successful so far, with more than 15000 applications last year, out of which more than 120 offers were made.
