Gurugram: A workshop on Competency Based Education was conducted by KIIT World School, Sohna Road, for the teachers. Ms. Ishita Mukherjee, CBSE Master Trainer was the keynote speaker of the session. The session focused on discussing the importance of CBE (Competency Based Education), its need and different ways to incorporate it into the classrooms.

During the workshop, Ms. Ishita Mukherjee, CBSE Master Trainer, highlighted different methodologies like Analyzing, Experiential Learning, Interdisciplinary Learning and Collaborative Learning, to make the teaching-learning process more joyful and meaningful. The workshop concluded on an optimistic approach towards Building Competencies.

Other activities were also undertaken at the workshop to demonstrate a novel approach to teaching the subjects that would not only help students’ mathematical understanding but also enable them to use it appropriately. Simple but effective subject-related thinking and visualization were featured in the workshop.

Speaking on this, Neelima Kamrah, Principal of KIIT World School, said, “Numerous educational institutions are seeking innovative ways to accommodate an increasing number of non-traditional students and satisfy the expectations of working adults as the education system is changing. Competency-Based Education (CBE) paradigm is one choice that shows a lot of potential for assisting in satisfying both of these requirements.”
