New Delhi: SWAYAM, India’s flagship Massive open online course (MOOC) platform, has gained popularity among students and learning community during COVID 19 pandemic. It appears that New India has switched to e-learning mode during the pandemic.
More than 140 universities have approved the credit transfer facility on SWAYAM during covid-19. These universities through their Competent Authority (EC, AC, BOS), have made amendments in their Ordinances, Rules, Regulations to incorporate provisions for transfer of credits for SWAYAM (MOOCs) courses as per UGC Regulations.
Union Education Minister, Dr.Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank , said that “Happy to share that now over 140 universities have approved the credit transfer facility on SWAYAM during Covid-19. This new addition will provide college students to choose from hundreds of courses available on the SWAYAM Portal, enhancing their learning experience.”
Meanwhile, SWAYAM posted record number of 7,49,454 new registration/unique users during COVID-19. The Minister informed that “Happy to share that now over 140 universities have approved the credit transfer facility on SWAYAM during covid-19 . This new addition will provide college students to choose from hundreds of courses available on the SWAYAM Portal, enhancing their learning experience.”
