New Delhi, 29 July 2022: In India, there are 23 Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs). These Institutes of National Importance are dream destination for BTech, MTech, PhD and other courses. IIT students pursuing PhD are entitled to a Monthly Stipend of ranging from Rs 31,000 to 45,000 with additional benefits. These fellowships are popularly known as Institute Fellowships as per the norms of the Ministry of Education.
Recently Minister of State for The Ministry Of Education Dr Subhas Sarkar, while answering a question on the annual permitted strength of the Ph.D Programmes at each Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) during 2021 along with their category-wise institute-funded, he informed the the annual permitted strength of the PhD programme is fixed for an academic year, while it is not fixed and keeps rolling in others.
