New Delhi: Dr Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, Union Minister of Education, chaired a high-level review meeting on various schemes and programmes of Ministry of Education today.

During the meeting, Union Minister directed the University Grants Commission (UGC) to ensure all scholarships, fellowships are disbursed in time. The Minister has also asked the UGC to start a helpline for the same while addressing the grievances of students immediately.

In an another key decision, Dr Ramesh Pokhriyal  informed that a seminal decision was also made during the meeting that Engineering courses imparting #education in mother tongue will be opened from next academic year. A few IITs & NITs are being shortlisted for the same.

It was decided that National Testing Agency will come out with the syllabus for competitive examinations after assessment of the existing scenario in various boards. It was also decided that a campaign would be launched by the Education Ministry to seek views from students, parents and teachers on how and when to conduct the exams next year.

Union Minister of Education Shri Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ today chaired a high-level review meeting on various schemes and programmes of Education Ministry. Secretary, Higher Education Shri Amit Khare, Secretary, Secondary Education, Smt Anita Karwal and senior officials of the Ministry attended the meeting.
