How is the Test Administered?

OECD-accredited organisations implement the PISA for schools test under the strict supervision of the OECD. To ensure strict adherence to OECD rules, the test is conducted by an authorised National Service Provider (NSP) through a digital platform run by the International Platform Provider (IPP).

The students must spend around two hours answering questions about reading, science, and mathematics and fill a questionnaire of 30 minutes. In total, the test lasts 3-3 ½ hours, including the breaks and instruction time. In addition, the school leaders also need to fill a questionnaire.

How are the Results Delivered?

All the schools participating in the test receive a comprehensive report in electronic format specifying their school’s performance. The performance is measured against PISA results from their own country and around the world.

But schools and governments can choose the country they want them to compare with based on their goals. The assessment data belongs to each school which they can further share with their staff, teachers, parents, and even students.

The schools get eligible for the report only after they test a minimum of 42 students aged 15 years, three months to 16 years, and two months. The OECD PISA For Schools test can be delivered on-demand once the validation study is conducted. When they want to take the test, it is up to the school, but they can take it only once a year.
