Mumbai: Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC), under Department of Atomic Energy (DAE), each year recruits Scientific Officer (Group A) posts through OCES & DGFS schemes.   Engineering graduates and science post graduates are basic essential criteria for the recruitment of Scientific Officer (Group A) posts through its academic programme.

The recruitment of Scientific Officer is generally done through One-Year Orientation Course for Engineering Graduates and Science Postgraduates (OCES) and Two-Year DAE Graduate Fellowship Scheme for Engineering Graduates and Physics Postgraduates (DGFS).

For the year 2020-2021 (OCES-2020), the recruitment process is over. Due to COVID 19 Pandemic, the recruitment process was delayed. However, the process was concluded few months ago.

On the official website of BARC Exam, BARC stated  OCES/ DGFS 2020-21 has concluded. OCES/ DGFS 2021-22 will be announced later.”

Selection to OCES / DGFS  is a two-step process:

On the basis of Online Examination: Screening to short-list candidates followed by Selection Interviews of the short-listed candidates. Online Examination is being conducted in March-April months of each year in each of the nine Engineering disciplines and five Science disciplines in more than forty cities spread across India.

On the basis of GATE score: Candidates will be screened in for Selection Interview on the basis of a valid GATE score in the applicable GATE subject.
