Hyderabad: Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU) Kakinada and Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU) Hyderabad on behalf of Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE) and Telangana State Council of Higher Education (TSCHE) respectively will be conducting the annual Engineering, Agriculture, and Medical Common Entrance Test (EAMCET) for Andhra Pradesh and Telangana State respectively for the academic admission of 2019 session. Candidates who are interested in appearing in either of the examination will be able to register themselves from the last week of February 2019. The entrance test for Andhra Pradesh is known as AP EAMCET, and entrance test for Telangana state is known as TS EAMCET.

To be able to apply, candidates are required to meet the eligibility criterions set forth by the exam conducting authority. The eligibility criterions are almost similar for both the examinations. Admissibility is evaluated on the basis of candidate’s age, nationality, qualifications, percentage, etc. To be able to appear in the TS and AP EAMCET 2019, candidates are required to be citizens of India; PIOs and OCIs can also apply; should, at least, be 16 years of age; there is no upper limit; candidates are required to be domicile of either Andhra Pradesh or Telangana; qualifying examination for AP and TS EAMCET 2019 is 10+2 from any government recognized Board; candidates must have attended Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry mandatorily; finally, a minimum of 45% is required as the combined aggregate in PCM in the qualifying examination.

Eligible candidates can start applying as soon as the registration window opens. The application forms will be released by the examining authorities during the last week of February 2019. Registration is an easy and straightforward process, and candidates can do so from the official websites of the examination. The first step would involve payment of registration fee. Registration fee may vary depending on the exam. For AP EAMCET 2019, candidates will have to pay an amount of INR 500 online via Debit Card/Credit Card/Net Banking. For TS EAMCET 2019, candidates will have to pay an amount of INR 800. After making payment, personal and academic details are to be filled in. Documents are to be uploaded as per the official guidelines, and finally, candidates can keep a print/copy of the document for future reference.

Both the exams, i.e. TS EAMCET and AP EAMCET, will be a computer based standardized test and candidates will have to attempt a total of 160 objective type multiple choice questions in less than 3 hours of duration. Questions will be asked in English as well as Telugu, and candidates can refer to either of the language. There will be three sections from which questions will be asked. Mathematics section will contain 80 questions; whereas, Physics and Chemistry sections will contain 40 questions each. Candidates can score up to 160 marks as each correct answer will be awarded with 1 mark. There won’t be any negative markings. Thus, candidates are advised to take time in answering each question and guesses are most welcomed.

Finally, candidates will have the provision of giving preferences of test centers. For AP EAMCET 2019, candidates will have to select 2 districts and 3 test centers out of 14 districts and 40 test centers. For TS EAMCET 2019, candidates can choose from 10 exam centers.
