According to the UGC existing norms, candidates who qualify National Eligibility Test or State Eligibility Test (SET) are eligible to apply for the post of assistant professor. Candidates who have PhD degree in accordance with UGC regulations will be exempted from the requirement of the minimum eligibility condition of NET/SLET/SET.

University of Delhi Recruitment of 267 Asst. Professors; Application Portal Deadline Extends
New Delhi, 24 November 2021: University of Delhi (DU), a Central University, has extended the deadline of application portal for recruitment of Assistant Professors. The total number of vacant posts are 267 in various departments.
The application portal has opened from 01 November 2021. Earlier the closing date of application portal had been scheduled on 22 November 2021. After extension of the deadline, the revised date for closing date for submission of the application is 07 December 2021.
The UGC has extended the date of applicability of PhD as mandatory qualification for direct recruitment of Assistant Professors from 01 July 2021 to 01 July 2023.
Accordingly, PhD will not be a mandatory qualification for this advertisement.
University of Delhi (DU) has released the employment notice yesterday (24 September 2021) on its official website under Advt. No. Estab. IV/291/2021 dated 20.09.2021. Earlier the total number vacant posts were 251. Then in an addendum notice, the vacant posts have hiked to 267 posts.
