New Delhi: Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID), the Central Transmission Utility (CTU) of India and a Navratna Enterprise of Govt. of India, has released recruitment notification for Recruitment of Executive Trainee – 23rd  Batch (Engineers). The Executive Trainees (Engineers) are available  in the disciplines of Electrical, Electronics, Civil and Computer Science. Candidate should have appeared in the corresponding paper of GATE 2018. Only GATE 2018 score will be valid for this recruitment scheme of the PowerGrid.

Key Date & Application Fees: GATE 2018: Commencement of Online submission of GATE Application 1st September 2017; Last date of Online submission of GATE Application 5th October 2017. The commencement of online submission of application to POWERGRID is 5 January 2018. The Last date for Online submission of Application to POWERGRID 31 January 2018.  For SC/ST/PwD/ Ex-SM/ Departmental candidates are exempted from payment of application fees. For others the application fees is  Rs. 500/- .

The recruitment notification mentioned that Final Year / Semester students who expect their results by 14.08.2018 are also eligible, provided they have obtained 65% marks or equivalent CGPA in aggregate of all semesters/years up to pre-final examination. Relaxation in Marks in essential qualification for SC/ST/PwD candidates: Qualifying Marks in essential qualification is relaxed to pass marks for posts reserved for the respective category as per the final detailed advertisement to be issued before commencement of online registration.

Upper Age Limit: 28 years as on 31 December 2017. The relaxation of upper age is available as per Govt Norms.

Selection Process: The Selection Process consists of marks obtained (out of 100) in the corresponding paper of GATE 2018, Group Discussion & Personal Interview. Eligible candidates will have to appear for the corresponding paper of GATE 2018, i.e. Electrical Engineering (EE)/ Electronics and Communication (EC) / Civil Engineering (CE) / Computer Science and Information Technology (CS). Candidates qualified in corresponding paper of GATE 2018 shall only be eligible to be considered for the next stage of selection. Qualifying marks in GATE-2018 shall be as decided by GATE-2018 conducting authority.

Qualified candidates shall be short-listed category-wise for Group Discussion & Personal Interview based on their normalized marks out of 100 in GATE 2018, in the corresponding paper.
