Sonepat, Haryana, 05 December 2020: Ashoka University invites applications for the eleventh cohort of the Young India Fellowship (YIF) from 03 November 2020. Young India Fellowship is a fully residential one-year multidisciplinary postgraduate diploma in liberal studies.

The first round of applications will remain open till 7th January 2021. The second and final round of applications will begin on 8th January 2021 and will end on 12th April 2021.

Batch Strength: The YIF 2021-22 will select approximately 200 outstanding individuals from India and abroad.

About the YIF: Started in 2011, the YIF brings together 200 bright and curious individuals, from diverse academic, professional, socio-economic and geographical backgrounds, and exposes them to an array of new age educational experiences that help them imagine enhanced intellectual and professional possibilities.

Over 1700 YIF Alumni continue to make an impact across diverse spheres – from running some of India’s most successful entrepreneurial ventures to securing some of the most coveted higher education scholarships in the world, and from representing India in multiple sports to going on to become renowned professional artists.

The year-long residential programme at Ashoka University is divided into eight terms of roughly six weeks each. Fellows study about 20 courses, each from a different discipline or area of study.

Course offerings include leadership, group dynamics, communication, public policy, art appreciation, gender and media studies, business essentials, Shakespeare and Indian elections. These courses also include the Critical Writing Programme and an Experiential Learning Module, and are supplemented by a range of guest lectures, workshops and peer learning sessions spread over the year. This allows students the flexibility to craft their own Fellowship experience that aligns with their aspirations.

After completing the programme, Fellows join a lifelong community of YIF Alumni, who are spread across the world and are shaping society in different ways.

International Collaborations: To enable faculty, curriculum and student exchange, Ashoka University has partnered with world-class institutions. Collaborations include University of Pennsylvania, University of Michigan, King’s College London, Sciences Po, HEC Paris, Trinity College Dublin, University of California Berkeley, Centre for South Asia at Stanford University, Wellesley College, Duke University, and Yale University.
