Varanasi: Banaras Hindu University, (BHU) Varanasi, India’s premier Central University, has released admission notification for Research Entrance Test (RET) 2017 and Direct Admission (Ret-Exempted). BHU has also released notification for Integrated M.Phil-PhD in Life Sciences through Research Entrance Test (RET) 2017 and Direct Admission (RET-Exempted) and MPhil through MPhil Entrance Test 2017.
Key Dates: Last date for online submission of application forms of RET/M.Phil 2017 is 10 November 2017. The online availability of admit Card (Downloading) for RET/MPhil 2017 is 20 November 2017.
The Tests shall be held on the 26 November 2017 (Sunday). The Test will be held at Varanasi, New Delhi, Kolkata and Hyderabad.
Admission to Integrated M.Phil.-Ph.D. programme in Interdisciplinary School of Life Sciences will be done through RET for Integrated M.Phil-Ph.D. to be conducted on 26 November 2017. Admission for MPhil in Subaltern Studies, Faculty of Social Sciences will be done for the session 2017-18 through MPhil 2017 entrance test to be conducted on 26 November 2017.

NET (JRF), NET (LS) and GATE qualified candidates shall be eligible for direct admission (besides other categories of candidates listed at Section H of this information bulletin) without appearing in RET. However, if candidates belonging to NET (LS)/ GATE wish to be considered for BHU research fellowship, they will have to appear in RET and be admitted/ short-listed as RET candidate
Candidates seeking admission to the PhD programme are required to give their preferences of main discipline and allied disciplines (subject to said discipline is not listed in Table 1 C) to the maximum of five (05) choices in the Application Form.
