Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, 03 August 2021: Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University, formerly Kanpur University, a state university in Uttar Pradesh, has announced PhD Admission 2021-22. Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University will conduct Entrance Test (CSJMU-ET) for PhD admission.
PhD Seats are available in the university campus and its affiliated colleges.
Total PhD Seats: The total number of PhD Seats are 972: 90 Seats in University Campus and 882 in Colleges.
Key Dates & Application Fees: The closing date for submission of application is 16 August 2021.
Application fee (for each subject) is Rs. 2500/- (Rs. Two Thousand Five Hundred) for General and OBC category and Rs. 1500/- (Rs. One Thousand Five Hundred) for SC/ST category and PwD subcategory.

The following categories of candidates shall be exempted from the Entrance Test for admission to Ph.D. programme:
- International students (including NRIs) which shall be subject to the general rulesframed by the Government of India from time to time and as applicable to theUniversity with regard to the admission, fees etc.
- Candidates who have secured grants for research such as fellowship/scholarship/associateship etc. from UGC(JRF)/ CSIR(JRF) / GATE-MHRD Scholarship / Teacher Fellowship / DBT/ ICMR/ICAR/DST-INSPIRE fellowship, DST-WoS or equivalent national level fellowship (as identified by RDC).
- Serving Army, Navy and Air-force Officers of at least Colonel or equivalent rank with not less than 15 years of service applying for Ph.D. degree in Defence and Strategic Studies.
