New Delhi, 03 March 2024: In India, there are 23 Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs). These premier research and education institutes admit PhD scholars in two sessions. Now Admission for Semester I of 2024-25 session has commenced.
As on 03 March 2024, there are three IITs have announced PhD Admission for Semester I 2024-25. These institutes offer attractive fellowships, popularly known as Institute Fellowships.

IIT Madras PhD Admission2024-25 Sem I: 319 for PhD & 161 Seats for MS with Fellowships
Chennai, 03 March 2024: Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras, an Institute of National Importance, has opened application window for PhD/Direct PhD/MS (by Research) Admission for July 2024 Semester. Scholars admitted to PhD and MS programmes under Regular scheme are eligible for the following Half-Time Research Assistantship (HTRA).
Total Vacant Seats: The total number of vacant PhD seats with HTRA are 319 while MSC (by Research) seats are 161 for July 2024 session.
Key Dates: The online application portal will opened from 01 March 2024. The last date of Receipt of Online Application is 31 March 2024.
IIT Guwahati Announces PhD Admission (Special for Science Subjects) March 2024 for 20 Seats
Guwahati, 28 September 2023: Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati, an Institute of National Importance, has announced PhD Special Admission for March 2024 Session (Science Subjects).
For March 2024, the seats are offered in the following Departments:
Chemistry -12
Physics -08
Total Number of PhD Seats: The total number of PhD Seats available are 358 for the December 2022 session. Special Seats for PhD Programme under CSIR/UGC JRF Scheme are 45.
IIT Kharagpur Opens PhD Admission for Semester I 2024-25 with Institute Fellowships
Kharagpur, 02 March 2024: Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kharagpur, an Institute of National of Importance, has announced PhD programme for the academic year 2024-25 (Autumn Semester). Institute Fellowships are available.
