Mumbai: IIT Bombay – Monash Research Academy (The Academy) has invited applications from eligible candidates for PhD admission in various research programs for the session June  2020. IIT Bombay- Monash Research Academy is a partnership between IIT Bombay and Monash University, Melbourne (Australia).  The Academy is under-pinned by a PhD Agreement between IIT Bombay and Monash University, students will receive a dual-badged PhD degree from IIT Bombay and Monash University.

Research Areas: The Academy offers PhD programs in inter-disciplinary research in the fields in science, technology, computer science, IT, Engineering, humanities, design and mathematics. The key six research themes are as followed: Advanced Computational Engineering, Simulation and Manufacture, Infrastructure Engineering, Clean Energy, Water, Nanotechnology, Biotechnology and Stem Cell Research, Humanities and Social Sciences, and Design.

Key Dates: Applications for the June 2020 intake are now open. The last date for submission of EOI forms is 15 March 2020.

Eligibility Conditions: Exceptional students whose intended area of study aligns with the research priorities of the IITB-Monash Research Academy are invited to apply for the Joint PhD program:

The minimum entrance requirements for PhD admission are:

First class or equivalent Master’s degree in a range of disciplines

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Science (with High GPA)

Scholarships: The Academy claimed that it will offer PhD Scholarships to successful candidates.

About the Institute: Established in 2008, The IITB-Monash Research Academy is a major Australian-Indian research collaboration formed between India’s top-ranked Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IITB) and Monash University.
