Guwhati, 21 March 2021: Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati, an Institute of National Importance, has announced Admission to PhD, Dual-PhD, MTech, MDes, MS-R & MA Programmes for July 2021 Session. IIT Guwahati has announced some new programmes in PhD and MTech courses.
New Programmes Offered by IIT Guwahati for July 2021 Session:
- Joint Degree PhD Programme with IIT (BHU)
- MTech in Robotics and Artificial Intelligence
- MS(R) in Disaster Management and Risk Reduction
Joint Degree PhD Programme with IIT (BHU): This is first of its kind among IITs. The students admitted to this joint degree PhD programme (JDP) will work under the joint supervision of faculty members from both IIT Guwahati and IIT (BHU) on the specified research proposals. The students admitted at IIT Guwahati primarily work with IIT Guwahati but they will also visit IIT (BHU) for meeting the academic requirements and avail research facilities at IIT (BHU). The degree will be issued jointly by both IIT Guwahati and IIT (BHU).
The selections for this JDP programme will be along with the selections of the respective departments. Research proposals offered for the JDP programme are available at JDP Research Proposals. Desirous candidates may apply for the JDP programme by choosing the option given in the online application while selecting the research areas of the respective departments.
MTech in Robotics and Artificial Intelligence: The programme is offered by newly established academic centre, the Centre for Intelligent Cyber Physical Systems at IIT Guwahati. The programme has 40 seats: 20 for regular candidates and 20 for industry sponsored candidates.
MS(R) in Disaster Management and Risk Reduction: The programme is offered by newly established academic centre, the Centre for Disaster Management and Research at IIT Guwahati. The programme has 10 seats.
