New Delhi, 16 February 2023: In India there are 23 Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs). These Institutes of National Importance (INIs) admit PhD students in two sessions: July and January. For upcoming session, there some INIs have opened PhD Admission.
As on 16 February 2023, there are Three IITs and Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore have announced PhD for 2023-2024.

IIT Guwahati Opens PhD Admission under UGC/CSIR-JRF Scheme! Online Test, 29 Seats
Guwahati, 15 February 2023: Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati, an Institute of National Importance, has announced Admission to PhD Programmes under special scheme for UGC/CSIR-JRF for March 2023 session.
Selected candidates will be admitted under Regular Category for availing UGC/CSIR Fellowship.
Total Number of PhD Seats: The total number of seats are 40:

Mode of selection (Online): All stages of the selection process shall be completely online through video conferencing through MS Teams, G-Meet, etc., as per the convenience. For no stage of the selection the candidates need to come to the campus.

IIT Gandhinagar Announces PhD Admission (Special Drive) Sem I 2023-24 with Fellowships
Gandhinagar, 23 January 2023: Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Gandhinagar, an Institute of National Importance, has announced PhD Admission for Semester I 2023-24. This is a Special PhD Admission Drive for students from OBC(NCL)/SC/ST/PWD categories 2023-24.
The PhD Programmes are offered for Fulltime residential research candidate. Institute Fellowship Benefits are available as per Ministry of Education norms.
