Roorkee, 12 July 2021: Joint Admission test for Masters 2022, a common admission test for admission into Master of Science and other post-graduate science programs at IITs, IISc, NITs and some CFTIs, will be held on 13 February 2022 (Sunday). IIT Roorkee is the organizing institute for JAM 2022. The application portal for registration will open from 30 August 2021.
JAM 2022: Joint Admission test for Masters is an examination on the comprehensive understanding of the candidates at the undergraduate level in Biotechnology (BT), Chemistry (CY), Economics (EN), Geology (GG), Mathematics (MA), Mathematical Statistics (MS), and Physics (PH). JAM scores will be used for admission to M.Sc. (Two-Year), Joint M.Sc.-Ph.D., M.Sc.-Ph.D. Dual Degree, M.Sc.-M.S. (Research)/Ph.D. Dual Degree M.Sc.‐M.Tech. Dual Degree and other Post-Bachelor’s Degree Programmes at IITs (Bhilai, Bhubaneshwar, Bombay, Delhi, (ISM) Dhanbad, Gandhinagar, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Indore, Jodhpur, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Madras, Mandi, Palakkad, Patna, Roorkee, Ropar, Tirupati and (BHU) Varanasi) for the Academic Session 2022‐23.
JAM score will be used by IISc Bangalore for admission to Integrated Ph.D. programmes. JAM score will also be used by other centrally funded technical institutions such as NITs, IIEST Shibpur, SLIET Punjab, and IISERs for admission to their postgraduate programmes.
Eligibility Requirement and Minimum Educational Qualifications (Meqs) For Admission: In the qualifying degree, the aggregate marks or CGPA/CPI without rounding‐off (taking into account all subjects, including languages and subsidiaries, all years combined) should be at least 55% or 5.5 out of 10 for General/OBC (NCL)/EWS category candidates and 50% or 5.0 out of 10 for SC/ST and PwD category candidates (If CGPA/CPI is on a different scale, it would be linearly mapped to a 10-point scale).

Structure and Mode of Jam 2022: JAM 2022 examination will be conducted as a Computer Based Test (CBT) in ONLINE mode only. A candidate can appear for either one test paper or two test papers by paying an additional fee for the second test paper. Candidates opting to appear for two test papers must ensure that they do not choose test papers that are scheduled in the same session.
All the seven Test Papers of JAM 2022 will be of entirely objective type, with three different patterns of questions, namely (i) Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ), (ii) Multiple Select Questions (MSQ), and (iii) Numerical Answer Type (NAT) questions.
