Ahmedabad: Space Applications Centre (SAC), Ahmedabad is one of the lead Centres of Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), Department of Space (DOS). SAC, ISRO invites applications from eligible candidates for engaging bright candidates with scientific aptitude to work as Junior Research Fellows (JRF)/ Research Associates (RA) in multi-disciplinary fields related to Natural Resources, Environment, Ocean, Atmosphere and Studies related to Planetary Sciences. There are 58 positions available for JRF category and 14 positions for RA category.
Eligibility for JRF: Candidates should have Master’s degree with NET or equivalent qualification. Candidates should have First Class with 65% marks or above (Aggregate of all Semesters / Years) or CGPA/CPI grading of 6.84 on a 10 scale or equivalent from recognized University/Institution.
Candidates should have good academic record and education throughout in Science or Engineering Stream.
Eligibility for Research Associates (RA): Doctorate or equivalent degree in Science/Engineering/Technology or having 3 years of research, teaching and design development experience after ME./M.Tech.with at least one research paper in Science Citation Indexed (SCI) journal. (First Class with 60% marks or above (Aggregate of all Semesters / Years) or CGPA/CPI grading of 6.5 on a 10 scale from recognized University/Institution in the relevant subject).
Age: Maximum Age 28 years for Junior Research Fellows and Maximum Age 35 years for Research Associates as on 17/11/2017 (closing date of receipt of applications) but relaxable by 5 years in case of SC/ST and 3 years in case of OBC candidates. Persons with Disabilities are eligible for age relaxation as per Government of India orders. Age relaxation as per Government of India orders are applicable to Ex-Servicemen, Persons with Disabilities (PWD).

Junior Research Fellows will be engaged initially for ONE YEAR and is extendable for further periods based on assessment of their work and requirement of project. The maximum period of engagement of Junior Research Fellow shall not exceed five years.
Research Associateship amount (RA): Research Associate – I Rs 36000/-. Per month. Research Associate – II Rs 38000/-. Per month. Research Associate – III `40000/-. Per month. Research Associates will be engaged initially for ONE YEAR and it extendable for further period based on assessment of their work and requirement of project. The maximum period of engagement of Research Associate shall not exceed three years.
