New Delhi, 03 March 2023: Application Portal is Open from Regular Teachers of AICTE approved Degree Level Engineering Institutions for the admission to Master Degree and Advance admission to Ph.D Programme under QIP for year 2023-2024.

Programmes Offered:

Master Programme (M.E./ M. Tech.) for the Year 2023

PhD Programme (Advance Admission: 2023- 24, Final Admission: 2024-25)

The main objective of Quality Improvement Programme is to upgrade the expertise and capabilities of teachers of the AICTE approved degree-level engineering institutions. QIP provides opportunities to teachers of the degree-level engineering institutions to improve their qualifications by offering admissions to MTech and PhD programme.

Admission to PhD programmes under QIP sponsored by AICTE  for Academic Year 2023-24 is open. This PhD programme is open for the full time/permanent faculty of AICTE approved degree level engineering institutes. IIT  Hyderabad is the National (Organising) QIP Coordinator.

Key Dates: The online application has commenced from 22 February 2023. The closing date for online application is 25 March 2023.

Result (Tentative) – 3rd Week of June 2023

Application Fee:

Application Fee (Non- refundable):   General/ OBC Candidate: Rs. 1700/-

 SC/ ST/ PwD/ Female Candidate: Rs. 850/-

Interested candidates may apply online at https://qip.aicte-india.org. The notification of the advertisement and the link are also available at AICTE official website at https://www.aicte-india.org.

Principal Coordinator for QIP Admission 2023-24 is Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur.

MINIMUM ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

The eligibility for admission under QIP scheme are as follows: –

(i) For Master’s Degree Programme:

Full time regular/ permanent faculty members of AICTE approved Polytechnic (Diploma) institutes having

(a) One year teaching experience at polytechnic level.

(b) A Bachelor’s degree in the appropriate branch.

(ii) For Ph.D. Programme in Engineering/Management:

Full time regular/ permanent faculty members of AICTE approved Degree Level institutes having

(a) Three year teaching experience at graduate level institutes.

(b) A Master degree in the appropriate branch.

Note: In addition to the above minimum eligibility, criteria of respective QIP centre/ Institute to be fulfilled for admission to Master/ Ph.D. programme.

DURATION OF THE SCHEME:

(i) The duration of the Scheme for pursuing Master Degree Programme shall be 2 years. There is no provision for extension in the programme.

(ii) The duration of the scheme for pursuing PhD programme shall be for a period of 3 Years. Normally, no further extension will be granted. In exceptional cases the duration is extendable by 1 year as a special case at the level of QIP centre. However, there will not be any scholarship for the extended period.
